Originally founded in 1921, the company known today as Mitsubishi Electric has almost 100 years of experience in providing reliable, high-quality products to both corporate clients and general consumers all over the world.
The company was first established in the UK in the 1980’s and has grown to become one of Britain’s foremost manufacturers of heating and cooling products. In the UK, the Living Environmental Systems Division provides proven solutions that heat, cool, ventilate and control our buildings in some of the most energy efficient ways possible.
In 2007, a dedicated Domestic Heating division was introduced to offer the revolutionary Ecodan air source heat pump system to the UK’s housing sector. Mitsubishi Electric’s manufacturing facility in Livingston, Scotland produces the 8.5kW Ecodan and Ecodan cylinder for the UK and European markets.
In 2010, a Commercial Ecodan range of products was launched, specifically designed for heating commercial buildings.
These low carbon, efficient* heating systems are ideal for Britain’s temperate climate and its introduction to the market is an integral part of the company’s Green Gateway Philosophy, which asks all of us to question the energy we use in our built environment to find ways of reducing consumption and minimising carbon emissions.
*Efficiency comparison and any energy saving will depend on comparison with your current heating system, satisfactory system design and installation, and operational settings i.e. how you use the heating system.
